25 Reasons why G. Harrell won’t be casting a vote for President Barack Obama again:
  • 1.       He signed Affordable Care Act in March of 2010.
  • 2.       He fumbled the use of $831 billion in stimulus, and now concedes, almost half-jokingly, that the shovel-ready jobs he touted were, well, not exactly “shovel-ready”.
  • 3.       U-6 unemployment is @ 14.7%...There are fewer American adults working today than in Q2 2000…Official unemployment in the African-American community is, officially speaking, 14.2% for black males and over 10.9% for black females.
  • 4.       Five months after he took off, over 29 million Americans were participating in the food-stamp program. Today that number has leapt to 46.5 million Americans.
  • 5.       He campaigned to repeal the Patriot Act and end the military tribunal of detainees, and instead, he extended the use of both.
  • 6.       He signed a National Defense Authorization Act that has, in essence, given the military the power to carry out action against American citizens on—gasp!—American soil.
  • 7.        He and his party tried to pass cap-n-trade legislation, but when that did not work they resorted to the use of the EPA’s most stringent new rules, the Mercury & Air Toxics Rule and the Cross State Air Pollution Rule, to order the shutdown of 10% of America’s coal-burning power plants. Put another, his EPA is taking 34.7 gigawatts of electricity-generating capacity offline.
  • 8.       Just in 2011, alone, the executive branch of the federal government enacted 32 new regulations. Today more than 12,000 people and businesses are ensnarled by some form of trouble after having allegedly violating these regulations and others set by any one of our government agencies.
  • 9.       He ordered the disastrous deep-water drilling moratorium after the BP oil spill.
  • 10.   His administration is blocking portions of the Keystone Pipeline.
  • 11.   His administration also is blocking critically-needed LNG exportation, which, otherwise, could become a boon for the U.S. economy.
  • 12.   During the campaign, he scolded the Bush administration for its lofting spending, and he promised to institute a “pay-as-you-go” approach. Instead, he now borrows $120 billion per month to support his own outsized spending. His deficits have taken the national debt from $10.6 trillion when he took office to $16.1 trillion today.
  • 13.   He totally ignored the Simpson-Bowles committee recommendations, and then, during a debate with Romney, he flatly lied, by saying that his own spending proposal mirrors that of the committee.
  • 14.   He signed the Dodd-Frank financial-reform bill into law in July of 2010.
  • 15.   He dared to mock business owners, and thought he had every right to say that their entrepreneurship did not make them smarter or harder-working than anyone else.
  • 16.   To save the healthy remnants of GM and to placate the unions, his administration circumvented contract law and threw out many of the claims held by debt and bondholders.
  • 17.   He publicly attacked the compensation structure of bankers, only weeks after his own Treasury Secretary was accused of not paying his own taxes.
  • 18.   Under this administration, the FCC has proposed putting a tax on broadband Internet service, after  it had already exhausted $4.5 billion from its Universal Service Fund (the vehicle used to provide free landline and mobile phone services to the poor), in order to subsidize construction of high-speed Internet networks in poor and remote areas of the country.
  • 19.   He took credit for bringing the troops home from Iraq, but the truth is, the decision was only made to do so, in accordance with a date prescribed by a status-of-forces agreement crafted during the Bush administration—an agreement, mind you, that the State Department tried to initially renegotiate and extend.
  • 20.   Under the guise of national security, his administration has killed American citizens, including a 16-year-old boy, without affording them due process, and now the families of those killed have filed wrongful death suits against the federal government.
  • 21.   He has consistently shown utter contempt for our allies in Israel.
  • 22.   His administration retired the shuttle program with no suitable replacement for NASA voyages into space. Consequently, we are paying the Russians to fly American astronauts into space.
  • 23.   He signed the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act into law in March of 2010.
  • 24.   His administration has raised the fees on H-1B and L-1 visas, while also drastically slowing the approval of H-1B visas, and depriving companies of the opportunity to bring talented people into their workforce.
  • 25.   His Justice Dept. has fought state rules requiring the presentation of IDs in order to cast votes, but his Dept. of Homeland Security has made the process of boarding an aircraft amazingly inefficient and cumbersome.
